Tips on how to maintain a welding equipment in Kenya

Just like any other machine, welding equipment in Kenya needs to be taken care of if one wants it to function well and for a longer time.

Many people do not understand the importance of maintaining a welding machine. They say that prevention is better than cure…I totally agree with the statement because if you do not take care of your welder then it will definitely not give you the service you need.

How to maintain a welding Equipment  in Kenya

Follow the specs

Its always very important for one to follow the specs of any machine and welding equipment is not an exception. This will ensure that one uses the machine within its specifications, thus its not over or under used. One should also ensure that he/she buys the right welding machine for the projects at hand.

Maintain your welding equipment

Maintenance of your welding equipment is very key to its survival and service delivery for a long time. This is why any body who owns or deals with a welding machine is advised to ensure that all covers of the machine are removed to make it easy for one to blow compressed air into the units in order to remove all the dust and debris from the mechanical parts of the welder.

The other thing which is also very important is to ensure that one uses a cover for his/her welder and also make it a habit to do all the grinding far away from the machine. This is to ensure that nothing is sucked into the welder while it operates.

It’s also recommended that one does all the wood working away from the welder preferably from a separate room. This is because saw dust easily catches fire from the sparks from the welder.

Clean your welding equipment

Cleaning your welding equipment is also very important and key to the durability of your machine. This is the time when one gets the chance to apply grease and check if all the parts are actually in good condition.

Maintain your welder regularly

Routine maintenance is very important to your welder. It’s therefore important that one establishes a routine maintenance schedule which will come in handy in ensuring that one does all the maintenance in good time. One can either schedule the procedure for each week or monthly. Depending on how one uses the welder, one can also schedule the machine to be serviced by a professional once or twice a year.

Replace parts

It’s also important to replace parts of your welding machine as a way of maintaining your welder. We all know that not all parts need to be replaced frequently, but there are other which tend to wear out very easily and thus have to be replaced.
